Neutrality[edit]

There are clearly a lot of people editing the page that don't like Noory. But there are also many people who do like him, but if all you had was this article, you would think he was a shallow, bumbling fool that no one liked. Whether you agree with this view or not, it is certainly not everyone's view, or even a majority. The section "Reception" is especially poor. Last I heard, coast to coast (with Noory as host) was the most listened to late night radio talk show in the US, and the 2nd most listened to radio talk show of them all, behind Rush Limbaugh. As of this edit, the show has 615 radio affiliates, which is a lot for a host that "no one likes". Over all, the article is not representative of the average or typical view of him at all. It's representative of a few people who miss Art Bell and who don't like the guy. Personally, I like them both. YouarelovedSOmuch (talk) 23:57, 24 May 2016 (UTC)

Hi, I'm fairly new as an editor. I agree with you. If Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, it doesn't matter what you think of George Noory. I find him to be neutral in his opinions on the C2C radio show. From what I've read on this talk page, it seems the arguing is more about the person, not the facts etc. Soli58 (talk) 05:02, 8 April 2017 (UTC)

George Noory never had the 2nd most listened to talk show or even close: https://www.radiodirect.com/radios-top-talkers-for-2019/ Late night paranormal talker George Noory occupies the #11 slot, posting his highest ranking in the annual survey.

His overall number of listeners is way down from when Art Bell used to host, but there are many more alternatives now for most people since the invention of smart phones.

St. Louis[edit]

He's mentioned numerous times that he grew up in St. Louis. Is this not true? 98.221.124.80 (talk) 10:11, 27 May 2010 (UTC)

He grew up in Detroit

Collective[edit]

He is an "Armenian talk show host" whose father was born in Egypt? Yet he is of Lebanese descent? He was born in Detroit, but grew up in Armenia? All of this is possible I suppose, but seems a bit unlikely. None of this is mentioned in the referenced articles. What is the source? Booleanorama (talk) 05:31, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

George has said himself (on Coast2coastam) that his father was born in Egypt, he emigrated to the U.S. He served in the U.S.Army in WW2. In 2009, Georges father was still living in the U.S. and was suffering from Prostate Cancer.Johnwrd (talk) 03:21, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

The quotes make him sound like an idiot and disturbed man. I think this should be changed. --Zeerus 17:57, Apr 14, 2005 (UTC)

But he IS an idiot and a disturbed man. I do not see the problem.

There should be more about george here than this.

They claimed that Christopher Colombus was an idiot or a disturbed man when he said that the Earth was round as opposed to flat. What I'm trying to point out is that the article clearly states that he 'claimed' to have traveled back in time. Since he did 'claim' to, that claim can be taken as fact. Whether or not he actually traveled through time is not the issue, it's the fact that he made the claim. (No User Info)

The final paragraph that describes Noory's show where he claims to be Dexter Monterrey does not contain any context and could be perceived as a swipe at the host. Since he did in fact make that claim, it would certainly be inappropriate to completely remove the information. I have added additional details that will hopefully eliminate any perception of POV in the article without removing information. I have also clarified the "cave" claim, as I see that it was a source of confusion before. --dtony 00:34, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

About the quotes, they should reference the date of the shows he said them on. (Pwnage8 02:41, 5 April 2007 (UTC))

I have been listening to George Norry for years, and I think that for the most part this quick little article about him is pretty fair and doesn't make him out to be a freak or anything (I am glad about that). That being said, I am upset that it said the quote "Noory has stood by his foreboding notion that 2012 will be a year of calamitous change on a global scale." I have never heard George say once that he believes something catastrophic is going to happen. I checked the sources for this article and couldn't find where he said that anywhere. Therefore, I respectfully removed that line.

Hosting from a cave[edit]

I thought he was serious when he said he sometimes hosts from inside a cave. He even talked about this little cricket that kept pestering him. Are you guys sure it's not true? Boy do I feel foolish if it isn't - especially since I've been listening to the show since 1992!

-I'm not sure of the exact date, but sometime in the last six months, George described the "cave" he broadcasts from when in St. Louis. It's actually a converted bomb shelter, about (if memory serves) nine feet below-ground, out in what we presume is his backyard.Vu1kan (talk) 08:50, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

I keep wondering about this...He mentions it a lot. I never heard the bomb shelter thing before. That makes more sense, but it is somehow a lot less interesting —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.52.217.194 (talk) 16:12, 21 September 2008 (UTC)

Supports Gun Rights[edit]

George recently stated to a caller in the show's 4th hour (on Open Lines) (Tuesday, February 13, 2007), in response to the recent mall shooting, that he supports gun rights, more specifically, the right for citizens to carry concealed weapons. I don't know where this would appropriately placed in the article, any ideas? Jay 23:07, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

Would appropriately be placed alongside anything regarding Noory's conspiratorial views towards the government, because Noory is a gun rights supporter of the "resist government tyranny" variety. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.193.238.155 (talk) 17:19, 3 April 2014 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for File:Coast2coastL noory b&w s.jpg[edit]

Nuvola apps important.svg

File:Coast2coastL noory b&w s.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

"broadcast major" vs. year of graduation[edit]

I find the use of "broadcast major" a bit in the realm of weasel words. Can it be confirmed if Noory ever graduated? If so, what year? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 133.101.207.189 (talk) 13:27, 10 January 2011 (UTC)

BetacommandBot (talk) 21:38, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

I was also suspicious of this as Noory strikes me as too unintelligent to hold a university degree even from a third tier toilet like UDM. But, shockingly: http://www.udmercy.edu/stay-connected/news-events/newsletters/clae/2009/02/noory/index.htm —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.235.133.153 (talk) 16:07, 27 January 2011 (UTC)

imdb.com[edit]

I removed the Imdb.com link because wiki said its not a good source of info. the example as been set because of the rick still and ufo phil page.--208.54.4.178 (talk) 21:34, 26 July 2013 (UTC)

Alex Jones[edit]

I changed the point that "Alex Jones, the conspiracy theorist best known for claiming that the government perpetrated the Boston Bombing, is a regular guest" to "Alex Jones, the conspiracy theorist best known for claiming that the government perpetrated the September 11th attacks, is a regular guest" because he was well-known as a 9-11 truther for over 10 years before becoming a Boston Bombing truther, and therefore it is more relevant, and more likely to serve as an identifying piece of information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.193.238.155 (talk) 17:15, 3 April 2014 (UTC)

Night Talk[edit]

For anyone who might be wondering who wrote Night Talk for George, it was Nancy Birnes (wife of William Birnes). Cerdic (talk) 17:03, 7 September 2016 (UTC)

His aunt, Shafica Karagulla[edit]

Noory has mentioned his aunt, Shafica Karagulla, many times:

I know nothing except what I see in Google results. I haven't read anything yet.

Hopefully, someone will put in a little info in the article since it seems significant in his life. -- Timeshifter (talk) 08:37, 29 May 2019 (UTC)

Remove the tags?[edit]

The tags are very old, and what is neutrality of article being disputed? Seems fairly NPOV to me. I recommend tags removal. TyScienceGuy (talk) 19:38, 23 September 2019 (UTC)
